About Me

Hi, I’m Jessica!

I’m a writer with a passion for ice cream and a severe case of wanderlust. A  journalist by trade, I have become a freelance social media manager, graphic designer and copy editor out of curiosity and passion for the media.

I live in a city called Geelong, which is an hour out from Melbourne, Australia. My heart lives in Nashville, TN and I look forward to the day I can curl up behind my laptop in Frothy Monkey and write a novel.

You might know my work from RELEVANTmagazine.com, JesusWired or Forte Magazine. I have  written for print and online publications across the US and Australia, and frequently work as a music journalist. I have interviewed Jon Foreman of Switchfoot, Owl City, Guy Sebastian and Chris Tomlin. I’ve also written a memoir called When Hope Speaks which is available at Koorong stores across Australia and through my web store.

I am passionate about social justice, particularly in the area of mental health. This has led me to intern with the award-winning organisation To Write Love On Her Arms. I also volunteer as the Editor and Social Media Coordinator for Aussie non-profit Hope Movement, work as a journalist for The Salvation Army’s  nationally syndicated Warcry and Others magazines, and am a regular contributor for WatersedgeCounselling’s blog.

If you’d like me to do some writing, designing or consulting for you, email me here. And if you’d just like to say hello, give a shout! I like to make new friends, and if you like coffee and pug dogs, there’s a good chance we’ll get along just fine.
