[REVIEW] The Call to Courage by Brene Brown
To say that the work of Dr Brené Brown has impacted the way society looks at mental health would be an understatement.
In this Netflix special, based on her bestselling book of the same name, we are given a front-row seat as she teaches about the importance of authenticity and vulnerability in everyday life.
Sure, we don’t expect to be entertained by a social researcher, especially when they have studied the effects of shame and vulnerability for more than 20 years. But Brené has a way of making her data and findings personal, giving us the tools to improve our wellbeing and relationships.
At just over 70 minutes, this is an easy way to inform yourself about current trends in mental health and how you can apply them to your community.
Brené’s Christian faith is also subtly mentioned through the presentation, giving people a pathway to better explore the spiritual component of mental health should they choose.
The Call To Courage is streaming now on Netflix.
